I am unable to contact any Rocktropian Developers and a support claim was submitted to MindArk on July 9th, 2020 (ID #389156) regarding this matter as well as my concerns and have not received any response. If any of this information is indeed true, what's stopping the developers of Rocktropia from selling everything, taking the money and running with it causing any avatars who invested in Dungeons, Rock Bucks and CND Bananas to lose money. Given the possibility of Rock Bucks and CND Bananas being disbanded from the game, given the possibility that the land areas on Rocktropia may have been sold and given the possibility that a planetary share system may be implemented, has me very worried. Not only this but allegedly, rumors from senior players who currently live on Rocktropia, have claimed that Rocktropia will be implementing a planetary share system similar to Crystal Palace and Ancient Greece. Within the last couple months, as I travel throughout Rocktropia, I've noticed that whenever i'm on a land area and I place my mouse cursor over my scanner, another avatar's name appears as being the manager of said land area. Allegedly, MindArk is trying to shut down Rocktropia's Popshop website as the use of Rock Bucks and CND Bananas as the virtual currency for Rocktropia, doesn't currently meet Entropia Universe License Agreement (EULA) as it allows players to buy items for the game, outside the game, which may undermine the overall value and importance of PED. I was informed that "it will have to wait a bit, I don't have my builder available at the moment and each dungeon is made from scratch" and that "I will try to resolve this during the summer."įast Forward to July 9th, 2020, I received a text message from a society member telling me to sell all my Rock Bucks as quickly as possible. On May 24th, 2020, the same developer was contacted again regarding my inquiry into unlocking my dungeon. Needless to say, this developer had no idea what I was talking about and stated that he will "look into it" for me. For security purposes, i'm unable to mention the avatar's name but let's just say this individual is unable to die. On May 13th, 2020, I contacted a Rocktropian developer to have my dungeon unlocked using Rock Bucks. Since January 2020, I've been trying to unlock the dungeon to my shop. I currently own the shop named Tex-No Records located on the planet Rocktropia inside the Tangerine District. The following information provided today is in no way, shape or form fact but instead rumors and speculations as to the progress of Rocktropia, so take it with a grain of salt.

With Little Nightmares II’s due date nearly upon us, fans are sure to soon wonder what the future holds for developer Tarsier Studios. In recent years, free trials have been few and far between, particularly in the AAA space. Considering last week’s release of the limited-time Monster Hunter Rise trial on Switch, it’s good to see that game demos are once more on the rise again in general. The demo’s wide release seems an exciting way of easing players into the next chapter of Little Nightmares. See also How WandaVisions Quicksilver Could Still Be Fox XMens Version (Preorders were already live on the PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox.) In addition to releasing the demo and the “Lost in Transmission” trailer, Bandai Namco additionally opened digital preorders on Switch. According to a YouTube comment left by Bandai Namco on the sequel’s new trailer, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can also enjoy the demo via backward compatibility. The Wilderness demo for Little Nightmares II is now available to download for free on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms via their respective storefronts. And fortunately for those who missed out on the initial entry, the title is a part of January’s Xbox Games With Gold offerings. Fans need not fret, however the first game’s protagonist, Six, will also return to the fold as a key character. With the follow-up, players can expect to navigate through new kinds of terrors, all while taking control of a new character – Mono. The development team originally announced Little Nightmares II back in 2019 during the Geoff Keighley-hosted Gamescom: Opening Night Live. Little Nightmares II’s The Wilderness demo previously released on Steam in December 2020, allowing PC gamers exclusively to experience the horrors of the sequel’s Wilderness level for a limited time. Tarsier Studios and Bandai Namco have finally released the free demo for Little Nightmares II on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles a new trailer, entitled “Lost in Transmission,” also accompanied the news. Senate committees don’t like the wording of the bill, so they edit it. The next big step – HB123 moves to the Senate side for vote.ħ. You now have a bill that passed through committees quickly, without good feedback from those who will be impacted by the bill. Perhaps this speaker is overweight and doesn’t appear to exercise, so the lawmakers don’t consider this speaker a worthy, healthy person to represent the “children.” Basically, they are discredited to add valuable input.ĥ. So now a school board member (a person with a little more clout than a parent) shows up to a committee meeting and is granted their 2-3 minutes to speak against the bill, but they themselves get interrogated as to their qualifications to represent the school on food choices. (In other words, you don’t have enough backing for us to really listen.)Ĥ. The first question you are asked is, “What organization are you with?” Oh, no organization? You’re just a citizen. Some parents call their representatives and try to voice their opinions, but they can’t get their representative to listen to them. They want the ability to determine on a school-by-school basis if this will be allowed. They are impacted, but they haven’t had time to weigh in on the impacts to budgets, government funding, parking lot crowding, or any other impacts to their schools. The bill gets added to the docket to be voted on TOMORROW and it is listed on the state website, but schools haven’t been notified of this recommendation. Representative “Sally” wants to change the wording and recommends that the bill include healthy options, such as fruits and vegetables become available for sale as well.ģ. “HB123” goes into judicial committees for review. Let’s call this “HB123: Food Truck Bill.”)Ģ. (Okay, there’s a purpose and benefit stated. This will help reduce students leaving campus for lunch and will balance out the crowding problem. Representative “Bob” comes up with the idea to allow Food Trucks to be available in school parking lots during lunch hour, since large schools don’t have enough cafeteria space for all the students. How can the content of a bill change completely during its journey? Follow me on this –ġ. Let’s use a very simple example that perhaps will help you see how bizarre and at times, quite unfair this entire process can be. But let’s talk this out in terms of what actually happens. Eventually, that vote for the bill occurs on both sides of the House and the Senate and it passes or fails. One would think that the committee maintains the focus of that bill as stated, submits it to be voted on, then sends to the other side of legislature for the same process. It is sent to committees to evaluate the bill with regards to constitutionality and benefit to the community. In simple terms, one would think a bill is drafted as an idea. Now that I am an adult and have become more aware of how our state handles the creation of bills, my mind is blown. Anyone remember the old “Schoolhouse Rock” television bits that taught us all kinds of valuable lessons? Most memorable for me as a child was the “I’m Just a Bill” one. In March, 2019, five days before Vincent’s third birthday, his father passed away and within that time the studio’s owner was advertising that it needed a new owner or it would close its door forever. I loved the freedom it allowed Vincent to create and just be! Yes, most the canvas we brought home that year looked more brown than the actual painting but he was having so much fun, I registered him for nearly every Sunday kids class that year. His father was battling an illness in a hospital in NYC and Sunday became mommy & me day and after our first class we were in LOVE. In 2018, my then two year old son Vincent and I began coming to the studio. It provided a fun space for people to create beautiful art and spend time with friends and family in a relaxing atmosphere. The Varia suit allows you to enter areas with high heat, the Gravity Suit allows you to traverse underwater areas with ease, and the menacing Phazon Suit allows you to enter areas where Phazon grips the environment. You repeat this formula of explore new area, acquire a few necessary upgrades that the boss will force you to use, face off against the boss to put your skills to the test, and acquire a major upgrade in power that aids in exploration. The game has a way of rewarding curiosity that keeps you playing because you truly do not know what could be around the next corner. Acquiring the item initiates a cutscene where Samus is lifted into the air, light explodes outwards to reveal Samus’ Varia Suit from the opening of the game. After a grueling bout, and I emerged victorious, I saw a new item hovering where Flaahgra’s body once sprouted out from the base. Utilizing the missiles, the morph ball, and bombs, you’d work through a tunnel to do damage and defeat the threatening plant. Flaahgra, on the other hand, taught me the complexity of the bosses. Sure, the initial fight with the Parasite Queen on the space station gave me an idea of the scale. Complete with it’s own lore that is fleshed out via the Scan Visor that would add to Samus’ logbook, exploration and combat go hand-in-hand in Metroid Prime.īut nothing prepared me for the first boss fight on Tallon IV against Flaahgra, a towering hybrid between a plant and praying mantis. Which, makes sense considering that Metroid was initially inspired by the Alien franchise. Tallon IV is a truly dangerous planet that puts the player at such a level of unease that it’s reminiscent of the first Alien film. When you explore corridors, a large pack of scarabs will crawl from cracks in the wall to kamikaze themselves. As you enter Chozo Ruins, Beetles will burst from the sand to greet you. This also adds a layer of danger to the game. Or firing a weapon at a wall that looks slightly off. The way forward might just be taking two steps back first. Through this smart game design, you’re forced to truly be an explorer and learn the areas you visit. And addictive.Īs you travel to an area, only to find you cannot proceed due to a missing weapon or tool, the game cleverly tells you, “Your princess is in another castle for now”. Whether that reward is good or bad is something the player will learn upon discovering but it’s certainly enticing. Despite this unsettling feeling of isolation, the game beckons you to continue exploring and, in it’s own way, it rewards you for doing so. Metroid has always been known for it’s intense feeling of isolation but Prime managed to ramp up that sensation. When I first played Metroid Prime on my Gamecube in 2002, I found myself both excited and intimidated by both the tone and atmosphere Retro Studios had created. The subtle growls of creatures plays tricks with your mind, begging the question of whether you should have left the station alone or not. Machines shriek against the strain of the station falling apart, fires explode from equipment that is failing. Upon entering the station, little alien bugs scurry away and a stream of mist fogs your visor. In the game’s opening segment, exploring the damaged, derelict space station is a bit nerve-wracking. Metroid Prime has this sense of mystery about it you never truly know what’s around the next corner. ( D) Schematic of stereotypical nuclear events relative to nuclear import in the C. ( A) Schematic of a nuclear pore complex (left). Intriguingly, membrane shape is not symmetric across the pore, raising questions about membrane sculpting activities by Nups for NPC function and assembly ( Lusk and King, 2021). Recent advances in EM approaches provide an unprecedented view of the architecture of this massive protein structure in human cells ( Schuller et al., 2021 Zila et al., 2021) as well as its distinct assembly states at different cell cycle stages ( Otsuka and Ellenberg, 2018 Otsuka et al., 2018). A subset of integral membrane nucleoporins anchor NPCs to the pore membrane ( Hampoelz et al., 2019a Lin and Hoelz, 2019). Multiple NPC subcomplexes assemble into an eightfold symmetric core scaffold (the outer ring Nup107-160 complex and the inner ring Nup93 complex) ( Kosinski et al., 2016 Lin et al., 2016) that surrounds the central channel and is attached to the cytoplasmic filaments and the nuclear basket, which are asymmetrically distributed ( Figure 1A). NPCs are composed of ~30 different proteins (nucleoporins or Nups) that assemble in multiple copies to total ~1000 polypeptides ( Hampoelz et al., 2019a Hampoelz and Baumbach, 2022 Lin and Hoelz, 2019). Nuclear pore complexes (NPCs), large multiprotein channels that control the bidirectional traffic of macromolecules across the NE, are embedded at fusion points between the inner and outer nuclear membranes (also known as the pore membrane Hetzer, 2010). The NE is continuous with the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), which produces the bilayer lipids from which the NE forms and expands ( Barger et al., 2022). The nuclear envelope (NE) is a large double-membrane sheet that partitions the contents of the nucleus from the cytoplasm. Together, our data suggest that Ndc1 functions in parallel with Nup53 and membrane biogenesis to control NPC density and nuclear size. Thus, membrane biogenesis can be decoupled from Ndc1-mediated NPC assembly to promote nuclear growth. Importantly, upregulation of membrane synthesis restored the slow rate of nuclear growth resulting from loss of ndc1 but not from loss of nup53. NE formation fails in the absence of both Ndc1 and the inner ring component Nup53, suggesting partially redundant roles in NPC assembly. Loss of ndc1 results in faster turnover of the outer scaffold nucleoporin Nup160 at the NE, providing an explanation for how Ndc1 controls NPC number. 3D-EM tomography of reforming and expanded NEs establishes that Ndc1 determines NPC density. elegans embryo to test the role of the membrane-associated nucleoporin Ndc1 in coupling NPC assembly to NE formation and growth. Here, we use the stereotypical first division of the early C. How ER membrane incorporation coordinates with assembly of nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) to generate a functional NE is not well understood. Several recent studies have introduced new approaches to protein scaffolding at membrane surfaces, with notable success in improving product yields from specific metabolic pathways. The nuclear envelope (NE) assembles and grows from bilayer lipids produced at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). The compositional diversity of biological membranes and general challenges associated with modifying membrane proteins complicate scaffolding with membrane-requiring enzymes. To date, synthetic scaffolding has focused primarily on soluble enzyme systems, but many metabolic pathways for high-value secondary metabolites depend on membrane-bound enzymes. Synthetic protein scaffolding is increasingly used as a mechanism to improve product specificity and yields in metabolic engineering projects. In the case of metabolic enzymes, protein scaffolding drives metabolic flux through specific pathways by colocalizing enzyme active sites. Protein scaffolding is a natural phenomenon whereby proteins colocalize into macromolecular complexes via specific protein–protein interactions. Parsec is also monadic, so we can piece together our different rules in sequence using the convenient do notation. Parsec works its way along some stream of text from beginning to end, attempting to match the stream of inputs to some rule or a set of rules. I have also put all of the example code into a file right here that is ready to be :loaded straight into ghci and played with. I'll try to keep examples relatively self contained, so it shouldn't be hard to skip to bits, but keep in mind the basic setup I do first. Most tutorials get stuck in with a complete example straight off the bat, but I'm going to present the different functions one by one so that they can be used as a reference of reminder (to me as much as anyone!) of how things work. In Haskell we can go down that route too, but now I've seen the light with Parsec I want to introduce you to a better approach. I write this as much for myself as for anyone else to have a tutorial and reference which starts from the ground up and works through how each function can be used with examples all the way.įirst off, why would you use Parsec as opposed to things like regular expressions for parsing content? Coming from other languages, splitting content into arrays and processing ever smaller chunks using regular expressions and the like can be quite common practise. Parsec makes parsing text very easy in Haskell. It is a ultralight head lamp and it simple to use Highly recommend a bright color - super easy to find in your pack amidst other items.
